RED SQUIRREL TALK VILLAGE HALL 5 – 6.30pm At the village hall in Carrbridge. Refreshments will be available. Just turn up! The Red Squirrel Conservation Officer for the Highlands, Juliet Robinson will talk about red squirrel conservation, survey techniques particularly in relation to Lochaber. There will also be a short film and there will be a questions/answer session at the end. Eleanor Garty, Woodland Trust officer, will talk about ancient woodlands in the Highlands.
At Glencharnoch wood, behind the village hall. Gather at the hall and
bring walking boots/wellies, waterproof clothing and binoculars if you have Juliet and Eleanor will lead this walk, after the talk in the hall. We will discuss basic survey
techniques and look for signs of squirrels – dreys (squirrel nests), stripped cones and if we are
lucky, squirrels! We are hoping that the event will encourage more people in and around
Carrbridge to report squirrel sightings and if they would like, to undertake surveys. * Both events are free of charge and all are welcome! * See event poster. Please print and put up!
